Default What tyres should I buy?

MY00 T2000 with PPP. Almost time for new tyres now . Fronts are feathering almost to the limit on outer edges now. Its running standard rims with 205/50/16 Continentals. Car generally drives and holds the road well but does sometimes get a little twitchy on the corners as I start to get a little more enthusiastic with the loud pedal !! Im convinced it should hold the road a little tighter??Is there any advice or general preference for tyres (eg, what brand/ideal pressures - currently 33 front & 32 rear). Any recommended garages for a 4 wheel alignment??

I have the same size wheels this is my experience thus far

I've had Bridgestones (2 sets) when I first got mine but the 01's I think and they were fantastic but wore very quickly. Then two sets P zero's a little dodgy in the wet but I got them cheap. Have just fitted eagles and they are much better than the P zeros wet and dry.

Have tried Toyos on my 01WRX (18 in wheels) but wasn't overly impressed with em.Then swapped to Goodyear F1 (GSD3) and think they are VERY good both in wet and dry conditions...

Good luck

Nick

Once again.... Eagle F1 (GSD3's) are awesome wet and dry, had them on my last car which was a Ford Mundano () not had them on the Scoob yet as the standard P-Zero's are still only half way thru their life.

But they will be getting replaced by Goodyears when they die...

Cheers,
Grant

Another vote for F1s. Not brilliant at first, but get better and better and grip well right to the end of their life. Toyos great at first, but tend to go off after about half worn. Wheel alignment at PE (Uxbridge) is fairly local to you but expensive (£116 ish). Ask for prodrive settings for handling.

GSD-3's are top drawer if a little soft, especially round the shoulders

I have toyo's (18's) and have found them to be better than the OE Pirelli's.
Cost wise very good as well

All the best

As a Toyo owner, I'd not recommend it

Thumbs up Potenzas every time

Had Bridgestone Potenzas originally on my MY03 STI 17" STD Alloys and found them stunning in all weather conditions. The car cornered like it was on rails. Bought a set of Gold 18" Prodrive alloys and had the Pirelli PZeros fitted but found them a bit twitchy in the wet, mainly an issue with standing water, so changed them for another set of Potenza's. Not had any issues since mate.

Its never an easy decision but I feel that the car won't give me any handling surprises particluarly in the wet when I least expect it. Most of us can only speak from experience on here but considering I spent a shed load on the Prodrive Alloys, I didn't want to compromise on the tyre.

For me, its Potenzas every time although I have heard good reports of Toyos.

Hope it helps mate.

Old Pirelli P Zero's were a bit twitchy in the wet, but new PZero Nero is fantastic in dry and in the wet.

Bridgestones...tramline..not too good in wet...Goodyear F1's...excellent.in both wet and dry...I've driven a P1 with Pirelli 0's on it and thought my my99 had the edge in terms of grip..in the dry on F1's..not same car I know but I did drive them back to back on smae roads...
