Default slight knock under heavy braking...

under heavy braking there seems to be a knocking noise coming from the front drivers side ??

have wondered about a bush being knackered or loose, but have had a look, and can`t see anything out of order ??

anyone got any ideas, or things worth checking ??

thanks, alex..

Mine does something similar. I plan to investigate it this week to make sure.

Likely suspects are the rollbar/droplink bushes (solid whiteline droplinks are available from Demon Tweeks), the lower balljoints (available from Camskill performance for about £25 each), the suspension top mounts. (No idea on cost.) or one of the wishbone bushes.

Hope this helps. Mine's been driving me mad

Have ordered bushes and drop links. I am also changing top mounts and shocks.
Hope this solves it

Did anyone establish what the knocking noise was ?.

I thought it was the heatshield and although I found a bolt missing have put another back in, everything is tight with no play, I still have the noise.

I seem to have the same as the other posts and everytime I go over uneven surface I get a knocking noise from the front offside suspension.

I have changed the antiroll bar and bushes and drop links but no joy. I am wondering about the wishbone bushes or lower ball joints.

The noise is getting worse and is a horrible metal on metal noise.

I have changed the top mounts, shocks, arb bushes, droplinks and also the bottom ball joint.
Noise gone.
I think it was either the ball joint or the top mount. Their was a fair bit if play in the ball joint and the top mount was very pliable agianst the new ones.
Hope this helps
