Hi guys

I have a 95WRX and always run it on optimax and 9/10 times octane boost. I've only had the car for about a month and like to drive it hard (as we all do). Never redlined it.........only once (limiter in second). I have heard from everyone not to give it loads (5000rpm - 6000rpm) in first...ever! But some people have told me that it's alright? I have give it some in first a fair few times, but am always paranoid about it!

Can anyone give me any advice??????

Ocassional 5-6k in first is/should be okay. As with anything mechanical the more stress you put it under the more likely it is to break. Many scoobies go drag racing and are hammered in first gear... but i'd expect that to only happen at the drags and not everyday. Regular oil changes etc helps. How modified/powerfull your car is will be a major factor on how long your gearbox will last
