Question ECU advise

When I brought my 95 Legacy 2.0 Turbo 4WD, the seller claimed that the ECU was upgraded with prodrive internals, board, processor etc.

I have removed the ECU and cover to take a look but do not really know what I am looking at.

There is a block in the corner of the circuit board, which looks like another chip can be fitted.

I have taken some pictures but unfortunatly cannot post them here.

If someone thinks they could give advise I could e-mail them pics.

Default More info

When I bought the car it was running 9psi boost. I have recently put the boost up to around 12psi and car seems to run fine.

Should a standard ECU allow this?

The seller claims that the ecu is safe up to 15psi, but I am a bit concerned as to wether mixture and timing will automatically alter or need altering manually.

If it's a Pre96 Prodrive ECU it should have a chip fitted in the bottom right hand cornet (28-Pin). This will probably have a paper label on it (and from memory some hand writting).

If the bottom right hand corner has a blank area with 2 rows of 14 holes filled with solder then it is standard.

If a chip is fitted, you should also find that the J1 link resistor (similar to L1 which is a brown vertically mounted resistor) is either cut or missing.
