Default Turbo Advice

Its time for a new turbo, so i need some advice opinions and rough costs

the car is being rebuilt at the moment with a new bottom end, then its off to our old friend rich wild for a good mapping ( not that he knows yet ..lol )

i want to uprate theturbo at the same time, i have all the goodies on the engine ready to take bigger turbo, AVCR, Apexi Power FC, Full HKS System, Fuel pump and uprated regulator, HKS induction...yada yada yada.

so its all nice and prepared, but im un sure about the choice and cost of the turbo..what do i go for.....looking for around the 350-360bhp mark..with a little scope for playing around ( FMIC on order )

what do you guys recomend, good reports and horror storys all welcomed

thanks

for 340/350 HP, best choice would be VF34/35 : fast spool-up and high flow.
Higher HP will requires a bigger turbo. Again, the TD05/06-20G from Andy is one of the best for up to 450 HP or engine conversion to 2.2L. Ask Andy Forrest.

VF34/35 as well as TD05/06-20G are direct swap.

I managed to get fast spool-up on stock TD04 with 1 bar at 2400RPM. TD04 is limited to 280 HP.
VF34/35 can spools-up 1 bar at 2800RPM and 1.4 bar at 3100RPM. VF34 can be found in the US at about 750 USD, but as it is ball bearing, it is less strong than a VF35 and will need to be serviced after about 40kmiles. Problem with VF35 is that it cannot be found easily. Hoppefully, it can be found in a STi7 or 8 in a garage. Both VF34/VF35 are limited at about 350 HP, but your stock WRX injectors (380cc/mn) will limit maximum power at about 300+ HP and you will find to change injectors and fuel pump if you want more.
TD05/06-20G from Andy is again bigger and is good for up to 450+ HP. It spools-up quite fast for such a big turbo. I managed to get 1 bar at 3000RPM and 1.6 bar at 3500RPM which is excellent.
