Default MAF Sensor???

Have MY99, totally standard and have the following niggly problems...

1) Car thrusts on a steady throttle when warming up (predominately around 2-2.5k but dont go much higher when warming up anyhow)

2) Revs have been dropping to zero on counter when dipping the clutch to change gear entering roundabout etc - occasionally

3) Hot tickover seems uneven. Engine sounds like its erring towards cutting out and dash lights can be seen dimming momentarily. However, not enough to show on the rev counter.

Still under warranty so will be going in soon but they didnt find anything last time. Any ideas...have heard similar things being attributes to Airflow sensor...what d'ya think???

1. Normal but may be worse with failing MAF or lambda
2&3. Probably MAF, could be lambda.

Agree with JB...
1. certainly normal and due to the Lambda probe not being up to temp.
2. Mayber MAF or ISCV

Interestingly if you log it number 1 is the lambda probe actually working correctly and up to temperature, but running the car at stoich when it is cold produces hesitations, done for emissions. If you run it open loop it is smooth and richer during this period. Open loop it would still be running cold start enrichment which the lambda correction has just removed. So Subaru map it right then kill it with emissions compliance
