check engine light

Default check engine light

hi all,
noticed this afternoon that the "check engine" light has come on and at the same time the speedo has stopped working.would this be the cause of the light? also,where exactly is the speedo cable located.thanks

You can get the error codes out of the ecu check here for details.
But sounds like the speed cable has snapped which sets an error code and you will not be able to rev the car over 3500rpm I think it is or 4500rpm..

Unfortunatly I cannot help with regard to the speedo cable as mine has been fine <touch wood>
