Knocklink and AFR
Hi all, i'm going to fit a knocklink and an afr to my95 sti. Has anyone got a link to the best fitting position of the knocklink sensor? i know its on the block below the intercooler but want to double check exactly where and what size bolt i need again. Also is it better to wire the afr into the ecu or straight to the lambda sensor? If it's to the ecu what wire should i connect it to and is this safe? as i dont like tapping into ecu wires.
Cheers Johnny.

AFR should go to the ECU IMHO.
You need to get a wiring diagram though, im not sure what wire numbers on your year.
Its quite easy though, and quite safe.

Hope you wired to the right side of the loom, for when you have to replace the sensor
I just prefer the ECU as its not near any heat, and easier to run the wires. Technically, both are fine though.

Cinders, most will tell you that. Ive tried both and it didn't make a difference, but...
By going to the ECU, you are getting the same live / ground voltage as the ECU is seeing. The battery volts and ground will be slightly different IMO.
I also think its neater going to the ECU, as you dont have extra wires going round the engine bay.
There was a big debate about this a while ago, and the conclusion for me was that you would get more accuracy from actually using the signals / voltages that the ECU was seeing.
Hope that makes sense.
