erratic boost
(MY95 sti)OK probably far too vague but my car will run differently from day to day almost hour to hour. I have a blitz EBC III and its set to 1.2bar when accelerating it will sometimes shoot straight upto 1.2 and get limited by the controller (bit like fuel cut) other times it will not get past 1.08. Other times it will boost OK but be really hesitant like a dirty fuel line..
I have no idea what to try and with the weekend approaching a few ideas would be great

i never found boost that sexy to be honest
1.2 bar is well above standard boost IIRC. what is the duty cycle of your injectors at this boost pressure. will they supply enough fuel? you have 380 cc injectors, maybe 440s. i think that your boost controller is trying to push too much boost for the injectors to handle. try knocking the boost down to 1 bar and see if that helps. fuel starvation will be doing your engine no good at all.
cheers
big sinky

I had an intermittent problem exactly as you describe. It had been doing it since I got the car just over two years ago. It came to a head a few days ago when my fuel pump went Kaput. One new fuel pump later and it pulls strongly in every gear with no sign of the hesitancy.
I understand faulty coil packs can also cause this fault.

I knew I should have added more information, I lowered the boost to 0.95 and it would still do it, but I like the idea of bigger injectors and the fuel pump idea is a good one so I guess they are a couple of avenues to waste my money on, any other ideas? (I wondered if the boost solenoid might have anything to do with it?)

boost soleniods
yep if they are faulty they could possibly cause this as well. even 0.95 bar is above standard boost m8 on these cars. i think 0.8 is standard but dont quote me. as for throwing money at your car been there done that
