Question Q8 super unleaded - 98 RON?

According to the pump labels, Q8's SUL is rated at 98. If this info. is accurate, presumably it means that it is superior to most other SUL which is typically rated at 97.

I've tried to find verification of this on Q8's website, but it does not give any info. on their fuel. Before I ping off an email seeking clarification, does anyone know any more?

Don't know anything about Q8 fuel but when i was in my local Shell garage filling up (again!!),the cashier mentioned about the 'NEW' OPTIMAX PLUS coming out soon.
I asked him if it was 100 RON but he didn't have any more information so it could of been a wind up.??

Anyone else heard of this fuel?

steve.

I thought current OPTIMAX was 98 RON, and apparently BP's new Ultimate was meant to be 98.4 RON, or these are just rumours?

The SULs used to be 98 ron they then changed to 97ron.. the Q8 is probably an old label.. Optimax is 98ron..

there is rumours of 100ron stuff by shell, I believe they have it in Greece and other places..

the BP SUL which was hyped up and then released and all quite is still only 97 as far as I can tell and my car prefers Optimax..

It is the MON value that is more important than the RON.

imho

Have now had a reply from Q8. This is what they had to say about their fuel:-

"...RON 97.0
MON 86.0

These are minima. There may be variation by supply point but all locations should meet these minima."

So now we know.
