Default Torque split of 4WD system?

I've got an 03 WRX and wonder if anyone could tell me:

1) What is the torque split between the two axles - I presume 50:50?
2) Can the car vary it as necessary and, if so, to what extent?

1) The diff itself splits 50:50. However, it's possible that the unequal rotation speed caused by the 1.1:1 drop gears causes a slight bias to the front wheels.

2) No. The differential in the WRX is a simple bevel gear unit that is unable to vary its innate torque distribution, and the viscous coupling acts to minimise the rotation speed differences between the two outputs.

Thanks greasemonkey - the answer and the lack a front LSD explains a bit about how the packed snow was tricking my car today! (turbo lag does'nt help either)
