Question odd clutch

im new to impreza ownership having had my sti8/9 ppp just a week, but ive never had a car where the clutch has been so awkward to use. its not stiff and doesnt judder but seems very hard to release smoothly especially from 1st to 2nd,i seem to get a uncomfortable jerk whether going slowly or accelerating more briskly. it feels like im on my first driving lesson.
am i a crap driver or do they all do this?

on a different topic is the rear suspension noisy and a bit 'bangy' or is it me?

car has only done 3000 miles.

thanks mike.

My clutch is fine (just smells a lot if you slip it too much), Mine has done 4500 miles since getting it new last september. Its easy to pull away smoothly and has no judder.

When I go over maybe a little 'hop' in the road I get a small thump from the back,The rear bootlid seems to bang a bit, think its the weight of the rear spoiler. Bugged me for a couple of months, but can't remember hearing it latley.

so does this mean i have a dodgy clutch? it seems unlikely at 3000 miles.

ive tried quite hard to make smooth progress but am finding it difficult. i thought it would be easier to drive than the tvr cerbera i had before it, which had a very stiff clutch in comparison.

mike.
