Default Turbo Squeak?

I have a 03 WRX 4 months old and standard, I have noticed that when I rev the engine from idle you can hear the turbo squeaking. Does anyone know if this is normal?
Thanks.

?? The turbo is "squeaking"? No, not normal. Are you sure it's the turbo and not an exhaust heatshield rattling/resonating? Either way, it's a new car, and if in doubt, take it down to your dealer.

Yes, but the only reason I get it is because my car doesn't have a dump valve.

There's no way your car should be making this noise if it's standard, and if it is, there's likely to be something wrong with it. As mentioned above, down the dealer and let them have a look at it.

I also get a squeeking noise when I blip the throttle, but I think it sounds like the alternator belt or something not quite keeping up with the engine when the RPM's are dropping.

Damn you, greasemonkey, I haven't worried about this until now

Lol! If it was a loose belt, you'd expect to hear the noise as you rev the engine up, not on the overrun.

Also, if it was a loose accessory belt, you'd expect to hear the same noise if you wind the steering onto full lock. Thus, it's easy to rule this out.
