Can I take it that my electronic boost controller will be redundant if I get a GEMS ecu?

You can use either. The EBC will give you in cabin boost control.

GEMS can be mapped to provide maximum safe boost throughout the rev range. Why change something that would be being "looked after" automatically.

Thanks for your replies. I can now sell my ebc to help fund the gems :) :)

Does a GEMS ecu need separate boost control?
In theory no.

But that's a matter of opinion!
