I have a MY03 STI. When I go over uneven road surfaces the steering tugs to one side. The same happens when I brake on uneven surfaces. This has only happened over the last couple of weeks.

Can anyone help!!!!??????

How many miles has the car done? It might be worth checking if the steering alignment was adjusted by the dealer who sold the vehicle. I had a similar problem with a MY03 WRX, apparently the Bridgestone tyres are particulary bad for this.

The car has done abt 8K. Did your dealer charge u for the Steering alignment or was it covered under warranty??

Might just be tramlining due to worn tyres. I had this for 12k miles on Goodyear F1's. Pulling to one side on certain stretches of road, steering going light as soon as the front's touch a white line, bizarre breaking behaviour - all cured with a new set of Toyo's.

Good luck.

The dealer did charge me- £100 and there was quite a lot of adjustment to make. They said that they wouldn't do it under warranty after so many miles (12,000). I wasn't 100% convinced that they had cured it so took it to another dealer. The alignment was fine but they explained that it is common for the car to trace the camber, they also advised me to check with the dealer that sold the car as new had checked the alignment before selling it. All new imprezas should have 4 wheel alignment checked and adjusted in this country before being sold. Only about 80% are spot on, the other 20% needing adjustment. If this hasn't been done then they should do it free.
