Ive just got back from a drive and normally the temp needle was rock solid half way up the scale.
after fitting an sti intercooler and samco hoses Ive noticed the needle is a little down from half way.
why would changing the mods do this?
is it anything to worry about?
it a 99uk car

Well, my 99 type-r reads at slightly less than half, so perhaps its simply a consequence of the better intercooler.

Don't know if that helps....

Were the Samco hoses for turbo only, or coolant as well? I wouldn't have thought the intercooler would make much difference to the operating temperature of the engine...

Coolant hoses are slightly more efficent flow..

I had similar on mine..

nothing to do with the intercooler imho.
