Lamda Installation
#1
Just got myself a Janspeed downpipe for MY93 and it arrived without a fitting for a lambda sensor. Will it be OK to get a fitting and weld it in? Anyone done this before?
I am also thinking of replacing the sensor at the same time. Do I need a genuine one or is there a universal one that will do the same job?

I must admit I haven't taken the heatshield off yet but the instructions I had for fitting told me to remove the sensor in order to fit the new downpipe. If the sensor is in the manifold does this mean I don't have to touch it at all unless replacing?

the only sensor youll have in your dp is a temp sensor which is behind the cat.this is for the 'cat on fire' warning lamp you get on the dash.as youve removed the cat its useless and can be disconnected.
your lambda in the front manifold doesnt need to be touched

You're right - I don't need the 'cat on fire' warning light anymore!! At least I can go ahead and fit it now.
I know the bolts to the turbo have been removed recently so it should be quite straightforward. Thanks for your help.
