On a classic, there is an unused, blanked off with rubber pipe, take off on the front n/s of the manifold.
Some cars have all 3 take offs used, but you can T into the one leading to the dumpvalve without problems. If you find an unused one, use it without the T.

Hm i cant tell where you have that tapped from, but as long as its any vacuum line you can trace to the intake manifold around the coil pack area.
The idle vacuum is normal, mine idles around -14psi in park and -17psi in drive, and zips right up to 0 when i step on the throttle.

I didnt drive the car to see if the gauge would read any boost as I thought i had done it wrong, the pipe comes from the manifold.. SO this my sound a dumb question but what makes the gauge read boost when driving rather that boost when reving but remaining stationary.

(Pressure in the manifold not engine load)
My gauge is T-ed from dump valve which goes direct to manifold
read negatice about -10 to -15 tickover , goes to 0 if i rev on spot and goes too + (PLUS)(posotive) 17psi on rag thats how it should work
