Help People!

My 00 Mdl Turbo 2000 does not get used to much at the moment owing to me working away from the UK.

Over the last year I have had problems with the battery going flat.

I'm sure this is connected to the alarm and tracker draining to much from the battery.

My girlfriend has jump started the car a few times and its been OK but I asked her to take it to the alarm place to check it out.

It went in to be chacked the other day and they have asked for it to go back in for a full check tomorrow but my girlfriend has said that the check engine light flickered and stayed on as she dropped it off just now?

I wonder if the battery has knocked the computer out?, I seem to remember one of my mates had this problem with a Porchse she had and it had to go back it Porsche to have some thing reset when the battery went flat?

Any ideas out there to put my mind at rest only I'm not back home until the 27th and I want to use the car for about 1000 or so miles that week!!!

do a search on scoobynet for CEL codes/check engine light.

There is a website with all the codes and the way to perform the ECU check.

Phone said girlfriend and get her to count the number of slow flashes, followed by the number of quicker flashes.
Report the findings on here, someone will check what error code your car is showing.
Bear in mind when counting that there may be more than one error code flashing, that she will need to count the flashes for about 15 seconds or so, to check how many error codes you have. (drawing breath).

Its prolly nothing to worry about, like you say the batteries playing up, but it will put your mind at rest if nothing else

As for being away for long periods and the car battery flattening...
get your girlfriend to start the car twice a week and sit with the engine running for five minutes.
easy peasy lemon squeezy
