Exhaust wrap heat paint...
#1
Yesterday I painted my already wraped cat back exhaust with heat paint that withstands 600C degrees.
As I understand the temp in the downpipe above heat wrap will not exceed 300-400C wright? Or is it dangerous and should not fit the exhaust as the paint is only for less than 600C?

I very much doubt the outside of the exhaust wrap will get anywhere near that hot.. my downpipe heat wrap is often touchable when hot..
As it is a heat resistent paint if it gets to hot is should just burn off without causing a problem other than a bit of smoke..
I would be very suprised if it caught light or anything so cannot see even if it exceeds 600C, it causing you a problem other than no longer being there.
imho of course...
I never painted mine and it looks like I have been driving through long grass underneath.. lol

The paint will not burst into flames if that is your concern.
The temp in the D/P after the turbo can reach over 800 deg C on WOT in certain conditions. The outside surface temp of a wrapped D/P will be much less and the paint will not have a problem with the temperature.
