Thumbs up

I did mine with some electrical contact cleaner, before you remove the sensor be sure to mark it so that you can put it back in exactly the same place. I squirted loads in then moved the slider by hand a few times. It cured a really annoying problem where the tick over would stick between 1500 - 2000 rpm.

Is there any way of testing these?

I've got a slight hesitation problem, and suspect this. It seems to be electrical - airflow sensor is fine, no intake leaks or strange noises, etc.

Testing pre MY97 TPS units...

stick a multimeter on the connector contacts. Measure the resistance. There are 2 pairs of connectors - one for the TPS and one for the idle switch. The TPS resistance should change smoothly with throttle angle and the idle switch resistance should be 0 when the butterfly is fully closed, and open circuit at all other times.

You can position the TPS unit on the car using a multimeter too. Simply connect up the meter to read voltage, and measure the TPS signal. It should be 4.7v at idle - with the idle switch voltage as 0v.

Alternatively, use a select monitor

Hope this makes sense, it's late and I'm tired!
