Sounds a little low to me, £20.00 - so around 5 gallons of petrol on a motorway run of 60 miles, 12MPG or so if my maffs serves me right.
I used to get around 26-28 on the motorway cruising at 80, Scoobs seem to prefer 80/85 to 70MPH MPG wise. even at higher sustained speeds i never got to 12 MPG
Your MPG sounds low, i only ever got near 12mpg 'horsing the ***' off of mine.
What MY have you got + is it an import and what BHP/mods???

I made it 11 mpg, but it's close enough!
Have your car looked at by someone with a select monitor or deltadash (depending on the year...) It sounds very much like your coolant temperature sensor or lambda sensor is dead. Or you drove along the M1 VERY fast.
