fuel cut?
posted a topic the other day about my car not acellerating properly, pulses with power as if its not fueling properly, was told it was the injectors, so i'm going to do an ecu test at the weekend, but now the car keeps cutting out when i hit about 4500 rpm in second and third gear, boost hasnt changed its been the same, even with the problem with the injector. its still producing 1.2 bar,and has done since i bought the car, is this too much for the ecu to handle, and thats why its cutting the fuel because it thinks its over boosting? would it be a wise buy to get a new ecu? the cars slitly modded, its got full decat exhaust fitted 2 weeks ago, decat up pipe, k&n induction kit, & hks dump valve, was going to start fiddling with the engine so would this be a good starting point? any suggestions on what to go for or what to do would be greatly appreciated.
cheers dave.

Have you got a boost gauge, so you're certain it's hitting 1.2bar? Is there a manual boost controller fitted? Was it boosting to 1.2bar before you had the decat exhaust fitted? I don't know about your particular MY, but speaking for a UK MY00, the fuel cut is about 1.2bar. If you were boosting close to that before your decat, it's quite likely the decat has given you a couple of psi extra boost. Just by decatting my downpipe, I got an extra 1psi...
yeah ive got a boost gauge fitted its in psi,, its running 14 psi which i was told is about 1.2 bar? it was running 12 psi befor the exhaust was fitted, and was running fine at 14 psi for about a week, then is starting fuel cutting, i'll see what happens tommorow when i do the ecu check, hopefully i'll only get 1 code come up
I think there's about 14.5psi - 1 bar. So if yours is boosting to 14psi at the moment, that shouldn't induce fuel cut, should it? Although, as I said, I don't know what your MY cuts at. Mine is 17 and a bit psi, sustained for a couple of seconds, so I have my MBC set to circa 15psi (which caters nicely for any spikes, although I don't tend to get them...)
