i have a 1993 wrx which i have just fitted a decat pipe, however i have a spare temperature sender with no where for it to go, so i have unpluged it, i was thinking of putting a resistor across the terminals of the same resistance of the sensor, so it thinks its still their!

What have you people done out their i cant be the only one

regards
Rob

Hi there.
I had the very same question when I received my decat DP.
I have a 1995 WRX.
Just remove the sensor by unclipping plastic connector on its wiring in the engine bay and bobs your uncle.
The sensor only gives out a signal I believe if the CAT gets too hot, therefore if you remove the sensor there is still no signal being received by the ECU, so not a problem.
The sensor is there to detect if the gas leaving the CAT is too hot as I was told, no cat, no need for a sensor.

thanks, that helps me a great deal and my code 21 is definatley the temp sender and not anything to do with that, have to check it tom as i may have unclipped it or damaged it when fitting the downpipe, or it may have something to do with my alarm which has been re-installed having found the problem with that being door soloniod up duf hmm

thanks

Rob

Rob,
I did not see a code 21 reference in the first post.
What happens when this error occurs, I ask because mine also has a code 21 error (Engine coolant temperature sensor). This error showed up long before I fitted my decat DP.
My CEL flashes on 2 or 3 times for 10 sec duration in first 5 mins of driving each trip (engine is cold) then goes off for rest of journey. Car runs fine and temp gauge reads OK, so I just ignore it.
Regards,
Richard

Other option is to get another hole drilled in the downpipe and weld a bolt onto it so you can use the sender again.
