Do you have to use a Subaru dealer to keep your warranty?

I know some manufactures will still honor warranty claims as long as the vehicle has been serviced using genuine parts by a VAT registered garage.

I have just got a MY01 WRX which has 1 years Subaru warranty as it was classed as a ¡§Approved Subaru Used Car¡¨.

My nest service will be the 60K which will cost a arm and leg at the dealer but just a arm elsewhere ļ

Thanks

Jon

Unfortunately if you do read all the small print on the service book then, Yes, you do have to have it serviced by a Subaru Dealer.
The constraints have changed now for anything bought "after" October 03, but does not apply to older purchases.
But at the end of the day its your choice, but will say one other thing. "If" anything did happen after the warranty has expired and a service had been carried out at a non dealer, your chances of getting a "goodwill" repair would be out of the window, so it is always better where possible to maintain the correct services for peace of mind if not a hole in the wallet.
