Mine keeps coming on, it has done it before once or twice but has gone off again after a couple of hours.
It came on, on the way up to Nottingham on Saturday and was still on this morning.
I have got a de-cat exhaust fitted recently so maybe it is something to do with this.
Does any one know why else it would come on and know of any "mod friendly" dealers in the surrey area where I can take it to get it checked out

Judge - its a STi8 new in September 03.
That info might have helped me if it meant anything at all to me, sorry being a girl and a newbie it was complete jargon.
I did get a sensor overide when I got the de-cat so perhaps this was not fitted properly

Charlie,
My de-catted STI8's CEL only came on when the weather took a turn of the worst last week.
The CEL fix should solve this problem. (delete box)
If you have one already then it's not wired properly... my garage had two attempts to do the job right...
Take it back to them and get them to sort it.
(It's bl00dy annoying I know)

now there's a thought...!
) for sexist comments like that...!Seriously though, that jargon isn't gender specific, but it's not as difficult as it appears to be. It could probably have been written in a more "Janet & John" stylee, but then people would moan that it was patronising. Can't win really!
But it doesn't apply to your MY anyway, so I'll shut up babbling now.

Thanks Judge, not too worried about the womens lib thing, I don't mind admitting that I have no clue whatsoever about the engine in my car other than its very fast and damn good fun to drive.

Charlie,
If you have had a cel fix box fitted (delete box) this should stop the cel lighting. It fools the ecu into thinking there's still a cat there. If your cel light is on the only way to get it off is to take it to a Subaru dealer. They can plug into your ecu and cancel the light. I had to do the same with my STi 8. I fitted the cel fix box myself (from scooby sports). If you go for a re-map in the future the sensor can be widened on the parametors to accomadate for the de-cat.

Compshack - It was supplied with the exhaust to the guy that put it on for me, that is as much as I know, it is possible that he has not wired it up properly. I have now called the dealer I got the car from and its being looked at on Friday.
Judge - If I got a pound for everytime I have been called that as I pull up at the lights next to a man I could buy another STi8

Not even Novas! But then without a cushion to sit on, the Nova driver has enough trouble peering over the steering wheel at the road ahead... plus the peak of his baseball cap would hinder him from glancing to his left or right...
You're right, it is cold. Especially as my central heating boiler's been knackered for 9 months now. Bugger. Bits for the car kinda took priority during the summer. So now it's looking like sleeping in the car...!It's a silver MY00 by the way. Had it since July. And still loving it loads. There aren't many things you can do with your right foot to put an orgasmic grin on your face. Driving my mule is certainly one of them though.

)Gotta to say I take my car for a drive for at least two hours every night and have done since I got it, so I am fully understanding the grin factor

Ooooh yes. Particularly in this weather. I might moan about my house being cold, but the extra power in the mule is worth every shiver.
Anyway, speaking of which, time for home. Completely non-eventful day in the wonderful world of IT. Apart from that excellent thread started by kilo_4que. Made my day that has...!
Take it easy bird.
Ade.
