Just read that the Lambda sensor will over time wear out, and start giving false reading. They mention every 3 years they should be changed. Is this true ?

If it is, what other sensors need to be changed ? I'm keen to have my car running in tip top form

The most important/fragile are the lambda and MAF sensors. Don't think the others tend to go as frequently.

Yeah, but how often should they be changed ?

That's going to cost £200

As you said, if you aim for 3 year intervals, you can't go far wrong. £200? The MAF should be about £75 from Subaru, and the lambda about £25 from a motor factor. Although it's possible the cheaper lambda won't last as long (waiting to see how long mine lasts...!)

At the end of the day, that money is a good investment, as you know the likelihood of a problem is reduced. You'll sleep better knowing your MAF's not causing your ECU to lean out your mixture, and you'll save a bit of cash as your lambda's not doing the opposite...!

I guess your right, I have got a AFM and knocklink, but will think about changing them soon.

Ok so I get the MAF from main dealers ? Where do you suggest for the Lambda ? Any idea how much from the dealers ?

Thanks Phill

Any out of the ordinary activity on the AFR or KL? You may not need to change them yet. The only reason I changed my lambda was 'cos the AFR told me it was shagged. No symptoms, really. I changed the MAF just for the crack, thinking if the lambda had gone/was going, there was a chance the MAF had gone/was going (34000 miles).

As to where to get a lambda, try here. Dealer will cost you a sh!te load more than that.
