new member ecu reset help please!

hi there everybody,
got myself a 53 reg wrx, been i've and managed to trigger a fault code by mistake, which i've now corrected. but i'd like to clear the warning light without messing about and getting the garage to reset it for me. is there a way to do this? i've read about resetting the ecu using two connectors under the steering column, but they appear to apply to earlier cars.... can anybody shed some light on this for me?
great board you have here, looking forward to posting regularly!
cheers all,

...although for your MY, I don't think that site will help you too much. Have I read somewhere that the CEL goes out after starting the car 5 times...?

For the bug eyes and newer; the CEL gets removed by ECU re-set after 4 re-starts...or 5 if you want to make sure, but you can hear the relays clicking differently as it resets and the CEL will flash once then disappear...
Remember to warm the car up first to avoid wear on the engine and ancillaries with all your restarts and keep your foot on the clutch.
