Power charts
#1
I know this is a thick question, but, as i have never had a car fast/powerfull enough for a dyno printout, have not got a clue.
When i bought my scooby it came with a dyno chart saying 253 BHP produced at 6210 RPM. 235 lbs/ft of torque
Where is this measurment from? is it ok?
Wheels or Flywheel?
Car is a uk model.
Oh, and a freind of mine, yes i do have one, says rolling roads dont do the car any good. What your view.
cheers

This will be a calculation from the power at the wheels to the engine output - or in simple terms.
They get the power at the wheels, do a bit of a calculation (transmissions losses etc) and come up with a figure which should be you engine power and torque.
Not a bad figure anyway though

Provided the rolling road run a good sized cooling fan then they do not harm the car as per your mate's concern.
The car does sound like its being flogged within an inch of its life. But thats because you are stood a few feet away without the benefit of soundproofing & the CD playing away to soften the noise.

MARK, Got your e mail thanks.
I am going to the G Force day in Jan, not sure about having the car tested, but will see what they do.
I dont really like the idea of my car being flogged within an inch of its life, cos i dont do that to it.
Interesting to compare power charts.
Many thanx
