just bought a tek2 and going to fit it to my car.just thought i have a different turbo than standard, and wanted to check it will be ok.

i may as well tell the other mods.

what do you think?

i should get me knocklink fitted tomorrow,so that should give so warning if things were going wrong.

You will need a method of boost control as the map in the original ECU will not be right. The ignition map is likely to be too advanced, fuelling is likely to be OK.

If you do it, use a Dawes for boost control and have a knocklink and lambdalink. Be prepared to sort out any detonation problems by other means (ie more money).

thanks for the reply john. But i am not that tech minded. how would the dawes correct the advanced ignition map? would i set a lower boost to be inline with what the original turbo would of been?

Thanks

The Dawes will not alter the timing of course. However, by regulating the boost you should be able to run something that will go with the ECU's timing map across the range.

You would be far better custom mapping it for safety and performance/driveability.
