Is NOS a good idea
#2
Depends on what your aims are for the car.
You'd have to make sure it was fitted by someone competent for one.
It depends also on what other mods you've done. You'll have to make sure that the fuel pump and fuel system generally is up to the job and many other aspects of the car would probably have to be uprated to make it worthwhile.
Personally I'm not a big fan of NOS. You can achieve the same thing with a bigger turbo (although you could do both). Granted you will get usually more lag with a big turbo, but the downsides of NOS are the cost of keep refilling and the fact that unless you go for a properly controlled system, it will be an instant whack of power (ie not gradual) that doesn't do your transmission any good.
Unfortunately what you have asked is a very simple question, but there is no simple answer.
I would look at other routes personally. If you look at the other posts on here about Harvey Smith's 585bhp Scoob. That hasn't got NOS. Nuff said. Unless of course you are doing it just to be different in which case it's quite valid. Horses for courses I suppose.
I'm sure there'll be some pro-NOS posts, but I'm not a fan.
Cheers

Thanks Rich. i don't want to do that much to my car(because i still need it to get to work) so i thought NOS would be a good idea. When i need the extra power it will be there. While still keeping the car reliable.

IMHO I think NOS gets a bad name - people get addicted to the 'hit' and want more - the jets are really easy to change, taking a 50bhp system up to 150bhp...that's the problem.
