I don't see why not as the AFC adjusts Air/Fuel ratio by a percentage each way.
you could use it to lean out at low revs and richen at mid/high revs to prevent detonation whilst increasing the boost with the Dawes.
An AFR and a Knocklink tho' would also be a wise investment so that you can check that your adjustment arn't DETromental.
