I have lots of water in the left hand side of my boot.I have checked around the back lights and they seem ok. I think the problem is the plastic vent that is under the jack in the left hand side. Does anyone know how to remove this part or what i can do to stop it leaking ?
Cheers Tomski

I think the right hand side vent on mine is leaking. If it's fine tomorrow, I'll let you know. I think it's a back bumper off job.

Check the seal around the boot lip,as it would take quite a lot of water to get past the air vent, you'd have to go some deep water for that!
Check the top seal has some sticky sealant underneath it, as the water does actually "creep" underneath it and then draw down into the boot space. I'd also make sure the seal it actually "touching" the bootlid all the way round, you may have a few "high spots" which will allow water to pour in in heavy rain or power jet washing.

Just for your info. I had the same problem with my prev MY93 Wrex - the boot was constantly wet after it had rained. Like you I couldn't find any problems....everything seemed water tight. However took the rear lights out in the summer to spray the tango to black....and in doing this broke the goo like seal around the lights. Having refitted the lights with a fresh bit of sealant they never leaked afterwards...I couldn't belive it cos the lights certainly looked water tight to me. Just a thought.

Mine is a MY98 uk car. I have been in the boot this morning with the mrs spraying it with water and I cant see it coming in anywhere so I think it must be something to do with the vent
