You won't get 120mph over a quarter in a standard Sti or type R, probably more like 100ish. 120mph terminal velocity is serious stuff, you'd probably be talking sub 12 second scoobs at over 400bhp to get to that.
If there's really 0.9 seconds between them up to 62 (I don't think there is), there is no way that a standard STi will catch it.

They all get de-restricted as soon as they come over!!
Think you'll find that in most cases the importer will convert radio/derestrict/fuel-filler/speedometer but it does not magically happen and plenty still restricted to 112mph...

All the gears in the TypeR and RA are shorter than the standard STI. I would expect this to mean that the R/A will be quicker in all gears until it runs out of revs in 5th. Then I think the STI will inch ahead as it has a slightly higher top speed.
I have driven both (I own a v5 typer) and there really isn't that much in it. Admitedly the Typer is quicker off the line up to about 60mph, but after that there isn't a massive amount of difference between the 2.
