Hi Steve,

I can supply you with a EPROM that will suit your current ecu. Drop me an e-mail if you're interested.

Another alternative would be to get a later 92-94 Legacy ecu (an Impreza 93-96 will work but has a different case and you will need to hard wire the intercooler pump to high) and give it the ScoobyECU/ScubaChip/Vos chip treatment.

(Vos chip is basically the same hardware as ScoobyECU, software wise I've never seen a map but Adrian certainly knows his stuff, so I'm sure it will just be variation on the same theme of the other two [cost is about £40 more]).

Cheers,
Alex.

Steve, GEMS replaces the ecu completely but still uses the existing wiring loom.

guess who forgot to press e-mail notification on his own thread then......****
thanks every one for your replys.lt will be next year before l can afford to sort out the motor, while its still relatively low mileage but l am a complete novice and don't know where to start.
As mark knows a friend of his has recently started working with me and is building a group n rally car which has had gems fitted so this was purely an option.
Barking mad alex what benefits would l see using an eprom and what sort of costs are involved.......ln fact l'll e-mail you off line....ttfn steve

Peter was absolutely bouncing this morning recons its better than sliced bread, though the anti-lag is barely noticable, suppose it can be mapped for a bit louder bang though (see it cost a little more than planned aswell).Just sat watching the 91 british champion ships again,it would be really nice to have my legacy sound and go some thing like colins on this tape.what direction would you recommend to help up the power in the short term until l decide which way to go,l have e-mailed the guy in australia (mad alex)to see what benefits can be had from his system. Are you going on the raid on sunday if so will se you there, hopefully have a chat
cheers steve

Hi Steve,

I've sent you a more detailed e-mail but basically its a remap chip that provides alternate boost, fuel and timing maps to the standard ecu. A ScoobyEcu for the early 8 bit ecu's if you like.

Alex.
