Engine protection (is this enough?)
Hello folks,
Did search on all individual parts, but wondered if they are all good together or not? Is the list below enough to protect my engine?
Dawes AFR meter (Air/Fuel ratio)
Dawes Manual boost controller
Dawes FDC (Fuel cut defender)
Knocklink and bosch sensor
After this getting a ScoobyECU remap as its a 94 STI car.
Is there anything else you'd recommend? Just want to make sure I dont have to rebuild it all again.
Advice appreciated,
Mark

I'd cut these two out of your list:
Dawes Manual boost controller
Dawes FDC (Fuel cut defender)
Wouldn't class them as protection.. LOL..
Other than that - boost gauge, regular oil change with subaru filter etc..

As JGM says - cross off the Dawes Manual boost controller and Dawes FDC (Fuel cut defender) and add a boost gauge...
This should let you have the ScoobyECU a bit quicker - well worth doing

Hi Marky,
I use the Dawes device (Boost controller) to reduce the available boost to just below the fuel cut. I had to reduce the bleed hole size from 1.5 mm to 0.5mm because we have the TD05 turbo. This all seems to work fine and the Dawes is very precise at controlling the boost. I only ever get one green light occasionally on the Knock Link and that is a very quick flash.
You will probably find that the ScoobyECU will do all you need anyway but I should hang on to the Dawes for the moment. Unless you want to use more than 1.1 bar, you dont need the fuel cut defender.
