Danny
What year is your Forester and is it an import?
If it is it's almost defo a 2.0 ej20 engine which is vertually the same as the same year WRX
Have a look at this site and this one

log books are frequently incorrect on imports. Just get the model detail updated.

.. oh and welcome to the select few

My V5 says my beast is a humble GLS, but I'm pretty sure I have a turbo fitted.
I guess some bod at DVLA just guesses if they can't find the right model.

Congrats on the new ride, its a 250ps stock. Almost all WRX mods are directly applicable to it, so theres a ton of info to be had.
10psi should be the stock max boost, you can go up from there. The stock exhaust systems are the same size. Aftermarket WRX ones CAN fit on that forester except the mounting tabs are a few inches off, and the exhaust mid pipe is 1.5" or so longer in the Forester. Any cold air intake/hi flow air filters will be a direct match.
The turbo unit is the same as the impreza turbo2000 or whatever names there are on the UK version wrx.
I got a '98, good fun.

I wondered why it rattles so much in the morning

Just been quoted £2000 for a proper slap fix job <<yikes>> but I suppose it really needs doing if I sell it.
