Picking up my STI version 6 next week. Was wondering if I could get hold of a P1 ECU wether that would be a plug and play option to allow me to run 98 RON fuel without ever needing to worry about detting fuel? Or shall I just get a knocklink and add booster when there's any det?
Any advice welcome,
Cal

I know it was a definate swap for an sti5 ecu and both have phase 2 engines so....... (i also believe this ecu is used for PPP'd cars but with a totally different map).

Have just unbought it! Apparently some of the very earliest P1s had piston melting problems possibly due to the ECUs, better not tempt fate! Cheers Anyway,

The P1 ecu maps are identical to Sti5/6 ... knock detection is more sensitive, as for the early ecu's causing meltdown ... think that was more to do with misguided individuals running on 95 ron, ceratianly there is no real evidence that I know of.
So in answer ... YES its totally compatable and actually has same maps with better knock detecion (more sensitive)
