Ok, last night on my private racetrack, I was cruising at 100mph no problems, but occasionally having to drop to 80mph for, well, slower track companions.

On planting foot from 80-100mph in 5th, there seemed to be some surging of acceleration - power on/off/on again etc - that has never happened before.

Completely standard MY00 UK turbo, on optimax. Otherwise running beautifully.

Cold dense air doing too much for the turbo/intercooler? Gremlins chewing my hosework? Help?!

I have no cunning dials, so don't know what boost etc is doing.

Wink

Does the engine appear to lose all power (like the electrics have gone) then full power returns.

If so, it sounds like your car is over boosting. Best bet would be to take to a dealers and tell them it's over boosting. They will then change a restrictor and full performance is fully restored

Hope this helps

Phill

No, it's less extreme than that. Just feels like the power drops a bit, then comes back to what I'd expect, perhaps 2 or 3 times in 4-5 seconds.

Paranoid?

Might be worth giving the boost solenoid a clean.
