Cheers - though as much about the press.

Guess I'll get the bearing set from GG as it's just down the road from me and dow all the dismantling , 'cept the bearing removal / refit myself to keep the cost down a little.

Is a speedy sleve essential (I know the seals are) only if the shaft is grooved?

OH - forgot to say - thats a pretty wide range for the torque figure considering how delicate the bearings appear to be - where are they sourced from???

Just had the rear offside wheelbearing fail

Am I right thinking I cannot change myself without the use of a press?

Also anyone got the torque figure for the hub nut?

Anyone know where I can find some decent instructions - most of the stuff I can find excludes the WRX models....

Car is a 97JDM Sti.

It would be very very difficult if not impossible to do it without a press..

The Torque for the Nut is between 166 - 206 Nm..

The bearings themselves are not at all fragile..
They fail due to the failure of the inboard oil seals, this allows water into the bearing and voila, bearing is Fecked!

And yes a New sleeve is most ESSENTIAL, as pointed out above..
