I think the SECS will only work with the standard ECU (reprogammed or not).
AFAIK there's only one other ECU at the same sort of price-level as the Link, and it's pretty new so not a lot of knowledge about - the Link is well proven & most people with aftermarket ECUs have one if not now, then have done so in the past before moving on to something more esoteric.
Link's a safe bet, if a bit 'ordinary' (I have one though, so can't complain too much )

This is the one I wa thinking of - pretty new, & AFAIK made by someone who escaped from MoTeC, but I only got that through rumour so may well mean nothing... The other ECUs are far more expensive (the MoTeCs, Gems, Pectel, etc.).
Why are you thinking of changing the ECU?

Depends on what the previous steps are!
There are a number of 'little packages' that can be used instead for minor mods, but if you need all of them (e.g. boost control, fuelling, timing) then it's cheaper to get the whole ECU.
There is at least one 'all in one' adapting package - the Unichip - which modifies the signal getting to the ECU. A reliable way of mapping, but from what I've heard the interface is a sod so the mapping isn't easy.

decat, dawes, blitz induction kit, up-pipe. was thinking of a turbo, but don't really know if i'd be better getting the ecu and then, once i'm ready for it, turbo and fuel pump/injectors.
