Aircon not working

The aircon on my 98 STi has gone....
When I turn it on, it makes a louder hissing sound than I remember before, and the air gets (very) slightly cooler...
Anyone got any ideas what's wrong?
Does it just need a regas?
Anyone recommend someone in the Beds area who can fix it?
