Does anyone know where I can get a hands-free kit (with external speaker/microphone/aerial) for a Nokia 8810. Nokia don't do one and I'm having trouble finding a supplier here in Swissieland.....

Thanks
Richard

I found something for my 8210 when I had one, but I don't know if it will work with your Nokia 8810.

It was made by Nokia, and plus into the cigarette lighter. It was basically a speaker, with a wire coming off it.

The wire plugged into the bottom of the phone, allowing the phone to be charged, intercepting the signal for the loud speaker, as well as amplfying the microphone, allowing you to speak normally, rather than shout.

I also bought a windscreen phone holder, so the phone would get a good signal, and give the microphone a clear path.

A standard Nokia microsphone can be added to the kit as well.

Thanks Andy

But I had a Nokia 6150 before and had the full Nokia kit. I want the same for the 8810...but seems that's going to be tough luck

Cheers

Hi Guys,

As you said Nokia do not do one for this model of phone. Neither the 8810 or the 8210 have a hands free kit. Nokia designed this phone as " a ladies handbag phone" and was not designed as a business phone like the 6210 etc.

It is a bit of a shame really as it is a really nice phone, even if it was designed with the non business user in mind!!

I had the same problem with my 3310.

Found a kit that was supplied & fitted for £120+vat which, although you can not have an external ariel connection (3310,8810 etc not suitable) the phone kit alows the phone to charge, work thru an extenal speaker mounted in the car & if your radio has the otion will mute as well. Nice small cradle. Also had one fitted in a colleges vectra and this works thru the car speakers as well.

if you require make etc, I'll have a look, know it was made in germany

Thanks All

Simo - bugger, 'cos the 3310 was my next option (then my wife can have the handbag phone ). Could you let me know the make/model? I can live without the aerial - does have an external microphone though?

I find it hard to believe so many Nokia's now don't have a full car kit.....I paid a fortune for the 6150 kit, but it was worth every penny imo.

Cheers

Hirschman do a kit for the 8210 so they may do one for the 8810.

Not cheap (200 quid) but the best kit i've ever used for quality.

Far better than the Nokia kit I had for my 6150 (still have it if anyone wants to make me an offer!).

Hmm, a couple of guys here at work have 8210s with a simple hands free kit. I think it's a Nokia part. Uses a jack type plug to go into the 8210 (IIRC) and you get a single in-ear headphone and mic.

Very similar to the ones for the 6210, 6150 etc but has a different connector.

I can probably get a photo tomorrow if you want?

Hi Richard

Yes, it has a ext mike as well, mine is up in the roof centre, all wires hidden away.

The make is THB Germany, if you have a problem finding a kit our 2 were fitted by a company in Bedford.

Cheers Simo

You're a star...they also do a kit for the 8210 (whoops - I don't have the 8810!), just ordered it

Costs about CHF.300 from a local Swiss dealer (THB don't sell direct).
