Unhappy

the odometer on my imported STi over-reads by about 10%....
I assume this is down to the km-miles converter on the speedo.
not ideal as the car will show more miles than it's actually done - not good come resale time.
anyone know whether this is common?
can you adjust these converters?
how easy is it to fit a new one?

cheers
Nick

My MY95 WRX is exactly the same. Seems to be worse at lower speeds, and as yours does it over-reads by approx 10%. Mine has the cable drive speedo with the in-line convertor box. Can't see any means for adjustment but will be interested in other veiws to follow.

I suspect they all do that. I have a Legacy with the converter somewhere behind the speedometer. I reckon the odometer over-reads by about 6% but the speedo by less than 3% (doing 97.2 at an indicated 100, tested by GPS - airfield m'lud ). As I do lots of miles, the additional ones won't make much difference to the resale (no more than £1000 over the time I have the car) so I don't worry about it. On the plus side, it gets serviced to schedule so probably gets better looked after than if the odo was accurate

The needle on the speedo head might have been put on back in the wrong place!!!
I put the de/limiter box on my car 6 wks ago and i put the dial back on wrong(puting the 180 mph)in
When i am doing 70 it reads 50 so the dash is coming of the weekend to adjust the needle!!

Cheers

I have the same problem with an inaccurate speedo but I think it is down the needle being on in the wrong position. When I am sitting still the speedo reads 15mph. Guess I will need to strip the dash down and put the needle back on in the correct position.

Cheers
