I have a 96 WRX which idles at 700ish but I have noticed that sometimes when the engine is at running temp slowing down and dipping the clutch it can drop to 500 and then raise back up to 700.
It has never cut out so I am not really too worried.
Does that sound normal?

I would love to know the answer, I fitted a new downpipe to MY97 STI TYPE R (IMPORT) and the revs are all over the place, thought it was due to a faulty MAF sensor, but not really sure.
