My Prodrive/Mcrae style Recaro's seem to have a habit of self-reclining i.e every other day I seem to have to give the **** 1/4 turn to bring the seat back up.

Has anyone else experienced this, if so is there a quick fix.

Hi Scott

I had exactly the same problem. Aparently (according to Recaro UK), there is a "patented" cam system which "cannot allow this to happen". The only way I could fix the problem was to replace the seats"

Should that not be 'patented cam system which does allow this to happen'.

As the Recaro's in my Cosworth done the same.

The Recaro seats (series McRae) in mine do exactly that. I automatically get in and give the **** a quick twist !

I never notice it recline when driving ~ just when i get in....

I've had Recaro's in 3 previous cars (Esc Cos, Golf and Chevette HSR (A what?!!)) and all did the same. Must be a "feature".

Every 'infinately adjustable' seat back I've had (last four cars) has needed tightening up a couple of times a week.

The first car I've had in a long while that doesn't do this is my Impreza. It's pre-set seat-back positions never change, which is a shame as it's never quite right. The difference between wearing a T-shirt on a hot day or shirt+jumper+coat on a cold day is quite a lot, but not as much as the next notch down.

Infinately adjustable for me, please, not crude, pre-set settings.

Richard.

PS Scott, there is a fix for this. Swap my seats for yours!
