Do i really need the heat shield which is at the top of the downpipe on my STI4?
I have just fitted a HKS de-cat downpipe so iv`e had to take it off, i can`t see a way of fitting it back, so should i wrap the pipe with exhaust heat wrap tape or something?

 

hi, i fitted an hks downpipe last year and did not fit the heatshield back or any heat resistant tape, so far no fires! or excessive heat. hope this helps or does anyone know any different?
