Question

- I have a split in my driver's door mirror - 75% of the length of the glass - is this easy to replace? - can I get just the glass without buying a (hideously expensive jap import folding jobby)whole unit?
In the interim, how easy is it to swap the passenger side glass for the driver's one ?
finally - can I get away with a temporary repair with superglue or similar until I can find a replacement ???

any help gratefully received,

Paul W

You should be able to get just the glass , but be careful as they are handed . You might find that a legacy one will fit as some MY's use the same mirror . I have a impreza one on my legacy which even came colour coded . It was cheaper than the legacy one but is exactly the same just a different part no.

Cool

If you want one now... a Mondeo one fits into the housing and the double sided will stick it over the top of current one.

Just until you get a proper one sorted as you can get one from Halfords (open until later)...

Or remove all the glass and unscrew the plastic holder (four screws under the glass) and take it into Halfords to find best fit.
just remember to screw it back on before you stick the glass in.

thanks for the tips guys - looks like temporary fix is in order until I can source a new glass without buying whole mirror at huge expense.

cheers,

Halfords sell mirrors (just the glass) with adhesive backing plates that you can stick directly onto the broken glass (assuming it hasn't shattered completely).
