how reliable is a sti v?

Im looking at buying a my99 sti v from the local dealer in town. cyprus by the way. only thing is he wont do a warranty on turbos. i have found this to be the case with all the dealers as they just bring the cars in from japan and sell them on. its done 55000kms. obviously no one can say for sure if it will go. looking for the normal things like turbo smoke but what else is dodgy if anything? basically should i go for it?
