MRT Quickshift fitting..!!!
#1
Hi peeps,
I've just purchased an MRT quickshift second hand and had a go at fitting it yesterday, i got as far as releasing the stick from the linkage but cannot for the life of me work out how to remove the old stick...!!!
I got the car up on axle stands but from underneath the shift is enclosed and i cannot access it, so i went back into the car and removed the steel surround, but i still cannot work out how the old stick comes out, do you just yank it out, i thought it had a pin in it to secure it...
and when outting the new shift in is it a case of just whacking it in..!!!
MY93 WRX Import by the way...
Any help would be much appriciated..
Cheers,
John.

recently fitted a b&m quickshifter ....the oem stick is secured in place by a circlip if u look close at the botton ball u will see it ull need some circlip pliers...or 2 small flatblade screwdrivers 2 prise it out[its damn fiddly so be patient]mines a my96wrx so should be the same.

unbolt linkage under gaiter and then pull gearlever towards rear of car - as if going for 2nd or 4th - it will pop out of the ballsocket........
Fitting is reverse, use a rubber mallet and whack the q`shift into the ballsocket, use a bit of an angle rather than straight down.....
